- The planning, setting up and running of the sale is of minimum effort, as there is not need for electricity or anything extra during the sale. All that is needed is basically a few tables and tablecloths.

- Nowadays you must either settle for a department store cake that tastes like cardboard or have a granny that can still bake well. A bake sale is a perfect place to sample good South African treats that are wholesome and home made.
The planning of the bake sale itself can be a very easy task if a responsible person takes charge. Firstly, you will have to liase with the ladies from the church and mark off on a list who will be baking and bringing what item. Make sure you do not have too much of one thing and too little of another. Persuade some ladies to make something else If needed. Then, all you have to do is to print out a small advertisement for volunteers to hand out at robots or put into all postboxes. Even if you just get 1% of “postbox” public to attend, it will still be worth your while.
Then, on the day, make sure to come in early to set up the tables and chairs for the aged people. You can even go as far as setting up a type of tea garden where people can enjoy your goods. Each of the ladies that had baked will be responsible to sell their own goods and keep the earnings safe so as to hand it to you at the end of the day.
