One of the most important go kart parts is the set of tires. Not only can your tires make all the difference between winning and losing, they can also make all the difference to your safety.
Two types of tires
There are two main categories of tires used in go karts, which are slick and grooved. Each type of tire has its own purposes for certain racing conditions. The construction of these go kart parts differs primarily on how the tires make contact with the racing track.
Slick tires
Slick tires are used for racing go karts on dry tracks. Since they are smooth more rubber is in contact with the surface providing excellent grip on tarmac and concrete tracks and ensuring an accurate center of gravity.
